Sparkling Diamonds Have Plenty In Reserve
JEFF KING
Wednesday 17th May 2017
A very exciting weekend for The Boys as they fitted in two cracking Championship meetings and came out unbeaten.

An unbeaten weekend, even if it was only just and probably shows the power of the reserve berths in massive amounts.

At Peterborough our top two did what they do so well and the support around them was just enough to get us over the line with the other boys all contributing even if some of them thought they should have done better.

We know thought they gave 100% and helped us get a fine away win which really does help your cause. As did James Shanes with an excellent performance showing why he's such a coveted rider. Such a shame that he's not available more often but thanks for your efforts James.

Then, against The Monarchs at home we looked reasonably comfortable but then Max Clegg got going and surprised many. Backed up by solid heat leader support suddenly we were looking down the barrel of a rare home defeat.

Out though came the Top two in Heat 15 and levelled up a great meeting with honours even and the two sides do it all again on Friday at Armadale.

Connor picked up 2 + 2 and Ben 3 + 1 on an encouraging début and it just goes to show with their points and Cleggy's for Edinburgh as well as Shanes' on Saturday what a difference reserves can make.

Also a huge shout-out to Josh Embleton for signing as a Diamonds asset. Richly deserved for all the effort and work he's putting in and hopefully it'll spur him on even more.
