Great Effort Now For Those Comets

After an excellent performance last night at Glasgow, The Diamonds will hope to go a couple better tonight at Workington.
It's back to Championship action tonight as The Diamonds continue to look to close out their up and down season in style, a season that could still yet end with silverware.

Not, of course, in the league but in the Knockout Cup where last night's 46 - 44 away defeat in Glasgow gives them everything to ride for and an excellent chance on their own shale of progressing to the semi-final.

But before that, The Diamonds have a tough meeting tonight in Workington where they face The Comets. Last time at Derwent Park, these two sides served up an absolute cracker and at the end of 15 pulsating heats couldn't be separated with a 45 - 45 draw the result.

Tonight could be equally as close and there's no doubting that Newcastle will go in to the meeting with confidence high as they've strung together a great set of results in the last few meeting and they'll be looking to carry on that form.

Team-wise, Ben Hopwood drops out as he's riding for Kent King in The National League Play-Off Semi-Final so Kelsey Dugard comes in as his replacement. Otherwise The Diamonds are at full strength for tonight's 7:00pm tapes-up meeting.
