Diamonds tackle Scunthorpe at Brough 6.30 tonight!
Thursday 12th April 2018, 20:23 UK
With two washed-out home matches the Newcastle "Boiler Technical Services" Diamonds are back at home tonight in search of their first group stage SGB Championship Shield points.
The Tynesiders welcome the Scunthorpe Scorpions (6.30pm tapes-up), and the lads are desperately keen to get up and running and start entertaining, and team manager George English is hoping the lack of action will work in Newcastle's favour.

"The lads are getting hungry for track action after all this rain," he said, "and hungry for points and we're looking towards our skipper, Ludvig Lindgren (pictured above along side Tero Aarnio) to lead the way and get out season ...finally... Off to a flying start.

"Of this year's side we have Tero Aarnio and Carl Wilkinson who are both former Scorpions and will be especially eager to do one over Scunthorpe, particularly Carl as his exit from the Lincolnshire track was seen by many as harsh, and he's desperately keen to race well for us this year"

There had been many looking forward to the Diamonds clashing with their former favourite from last year, Steve Worrall, but the Unlucky man from St. Helens tangled with another rider last week and broke his tibia and fibula putting him out of action.

A guest in the shape of Lewis Kerr covers his races tonight.

All action.... Full on entertainment.... Tonight 6.30pm Brough Park ...
