A Brough Park track that had not seen the action of battle for more than six months rode surprisingly well when the BTS Diamonds took on Scunthorpe.
Skipper Ludvig Lindgren made the best possible start to win Heat One with ease and took a second fine win in Heat 13 over the best of opposition, Lewis Kerr and Jason Garrity as part of his 7+1 haul.

Top man for the Diamonds was Lewis Rose on 8+2 while Ashley Morris took 8+1, Lewis taking two wins, and Ash steady and reliable in all races.

Newcastle solid team make up was obvious from the off with the top score of eight only three higher than the lowest scores of five, and this could set the Diamonds up for some closely contested matches this season.

Tero Aarnio ended the night on seven, but had a nightmare start missing the 2 minute time allowance with an ailing bike, but was never out of the top two for the rest of the night again signalling the little Finn could be in for a good year.
