The Newcastle "BTS" Diamonds are still smarting from a poor SGB Championship league match at the Ipswich Witches a couple of weeks ago, with team manager George English far from happy with his side's 60-29 defeat, but yet again there's an opportunity to redress the balance this evening when the Suffolk side arrive at Brough Park this evening at 6.30pm.
"Ipswich are, as we found out to our cost, a tough side to beat," said English, "but we are a side on the up at the moment, and last week's win over Sheffield was by more than anyone had dared which proves we are a match for anyone on our day, which we believe tonight may well be again because as any supporter who has see us in action at Brough Park will know.

"We do send our best wished to our former skipper, Danny King of Ipswich as he was involved in a heavy crash with his own team mate on Thursday gone and for a while had feared a leg break, but we're as delighted as Ipswich to hear there's nothing broken, just soft tissue damage which will heal significantly quicker that a break.

"He will however be out till the end of May and the Witches will use a guest this evening to cover his rides with Redcar's Ben Barker taking the bookins. We obviously still have gaps in the side to fill, and while the search is very much active to sort out a new face. For tonight we will be fielding two guests, Kevin Doolan (pictured above in the Witches' colours) from Berwick in place of Lewis Rose and Paul Starke of Glasgow will come in for Stuart Robson, which certainly doesn't weaken our chances of success."

Ipswich will also be without Michael Hartell, who was also involved with King's crash while Nico Covatti is not due back from injury as yet signalling other additions and changes to the Witches line-up tonight which will include rider-replacement for Covatti while Edinburgh's Josh Pickering will take the rides vacated by Hartell.

Tonight's Line-up

Newcastle: Ludvig Lindgren (captain), Tero Aarnio, Kevin Doolan (guest), Matthew Wethers, Paul Starke, Carl Wilkinson, Ashley Morris

Ipswich: Ben Barker (guest), Nico Covatti - Rider replacement, Cameron Heeps, Josh Pickering (guest), Rory Schlein, Connor Mountain, Danyon Hume
