All roads led to South Yorkshire earlier today as the top riders in the SGB Championship battled it out for individual glory in the league riders' Finals.
Stevie Worrall represented the BTS Diamonds but from his opening race found the going tough in Heat Three when Ryan Douglas hammered the door firmly closed on Worrall's run on the second lap, leading to the Diamond bouncing off the fence, having to coax his ill machine to the line, but as Craig Cook had suffered the first of three engine failures (leading to his withdrawal) Worrall took a point.
Heat Six gave the Diamonds one more point after Josh Auty whipped past him only for the Scunthorpe mad to fall with the race being awarded and Worrall now on two, which went to three after Heat 12 led by Erik Riss early on followed by Worrall who was overhauled by Adam Ellis on the second bend of the third lap.
Worrall retired from Heat 15 as his bike gave up the ghost just after being passed by Todd Kurtz at the start of the fourth lap, as the Newcastle skipper took his final points of the night in Heat 17 taking second behind Danny King and ahead of Zaine Kennedy and Chris Harris.
That total of five points left him significantly short of the semi final, won by Riss over King who went to join Ryan Douglas and Sam Masters in the grand final with Riss taking gold, King silver and Douglas bronze.
