Newcastle Diamonds travel to Scotland for their final League match of the season to tackle the Edinburgh Monarchs (7.30pm start) two weeks from the 1st Leg of their Knockout Cup Final against Redcar Bears.

The Diamonds will be hoping for better weather as the original fixture was washed out.

Team Manager George English said: “Armadale is a place where we have gone particularly well at in the past, although we were unlucky to get just 38 there in the KnockOut Cup back in July. Hopefully we can get closer than that this time and come away with some points.”

Steve Worrall scored paid 15 that night, with Max Clegg also amongst the points with12 and Matty Wethers battled hard for seven, riding against his former club.

Edinburgh Team manager Alex Harkess said: "I know that we have been racing Newcastle since Monarchs were formed in 1948 and it is a match both teams always want to win.

"Many of the meetings have been extremely close. Neither team has reached their goals this season but I'm sure all the riders will be trying to show they are worth their place in next season's lineups."

The Diamonds have shuffled their pack as they will use Rider Replacement for the injured Thomas Jorgensen at number two, with Max Clegg switching to number four and Wethers moving to number five.

If the Diamonds can collect all four league points, by winning by more than six points on the night and Eastbourne lose their final match at home to Leicester on Saturday, they will climb to eighth place in the league table.

Edinburgh: Sam Masters, James Sarjeant, Josh Pickering, Ricky Wells, Cameron Heeps, William Lawson, Connor Coles.

Diamonds: Steve Worrall, R/R for Thomas Jorgensen, Lasse Bjerre, Max Clegg, Matty Wethers, Ulrich Ostergaard, Danny Phillips.
