Diamonds v Redcar Knockout Cup Final confirmed Sunday October 20th 6.30pm
Edinburgh v Newcastle Championship ... preview for Friday night , October 4th, 7.30pm
Friday 27th September 2019, 13:22 UK

Newcastle BTS Diamonds travel to Scotland for their final League match of the season to tackle the Edinburgh Monarchs (Friday at 7.30pm start) one week before the 1st Leg of their Knockout Cup Final against Redcar Bears.

Both teams will be hoping for “third time lucky,” after the meeting was called off for a second time last week.

Diamonds Team Manager George English said: “It has been very frustrating weather wise, especially when we didn’t have a home meeting last Sunday. Hopefully we can hit the ground running early on at a track we perform well at and come away with some points to end our league campaign on a high, which, hopefully, will give us some momentum going in to our KOC Final against Redcar next week”

The Diamonds have been forced to shuffle their pack as they will use Rider Replacement for the injured Thomas Jorgensen at number two, with Max Clegg switching back to reserve, Ulrich Ostergaard moving back in to the main body of the team at number 4 and Matty Wethers moving to number five.

They have also been dealt an extra blow as Lasse Bjerre misses the meeting and the Diamonds have called upon Sheffield Tigers rider Broc Nicol as a guest.

The SCB have allowed Danny Phillips to race for Belle Vue on Friday night, so Ryan MacDonald will deputise as a guest replacement.

If the Diamonds can collect all four league points, by winning by more than six points on the night, they will climb to ninth place in the league table, moving above the Monarchs.

Edinburgh: Sam Masters, James Sarjeant, Josh Pickering, Ricky Wells, Cameron Heeps, William Lawson, Connor Coles.

Diamonds: Steve Worrall, R/R for Thomas Jorgensen, Broc Nicol (guest), Ulrich Osterggard, Matty Wethers, Max Clegg, Ryan Macdonald (guest)
